Serving is one of the joys of belonging at Preston Minster. Everything that happens is possible only because of our amazing teams of volunteers who choose to love and serve our community.
There's a huge variety of Minster Teams you can join, including on Sundays and during the week.
Join a Team
SUNDAY TEAMS
Our Sunday Teams help create an atmosphere where people of all ages feel welcomed and able to meet with God. Generally, team members will serve on a rota twice per month.
Front of House
Positioned at the entrance, be the first to provide the best welcome of the week to the Minster.
Cafe
Serve hot drinks and pastries, setting up and packing down the kitchen at either side of The 11.
Stewards
Facilitate the smooth running of services through opening and locking up the building, ushering and being a general point of help.
Kids
Run Sunday sessions including Bible teaching, praying, games and creative play. This role requires two satisfactory references and a DBS check.
Youth
Facilitate groups, build a fun atmosphere and invest in our young people. This role requires two satisfactory references and a DBS check.
Worship
If you play an instrument or sing, and share a passion for leading people in sung worship, we’d love to hear from you.
Production
Support the running of audio-visuals at our services and large events throughout the year.
Prayer Ministry
Provide prayer support to the congregation following the The 11am service through active listening and interceding for those seeking prayer.
Media
For those with skills and a special interest in photography, social media, design and videography.
COMMUNITY TEAMS
We want to reflect the love of Jesus in our local community. We do this by running social transformation ministries as well as stewarding our amazing grounds and buildings.
Spear
Provide coaching and administrative support to young people facing barriers to employment. This role requires two satisfactory references and a DBS check.
Alpha
Alpha Hosts lead small group discussions, creating a welcoming space for guests to explore life, faith, and meaning together.
Street Team
Street Team members go out into the community to share the love of Jesus, offering prayer, conversation, and hope to people they meet.
Facilities
Help take care of the material aspects of our buildings and grounds through maintenance and DIY.
Cleaning
Cleaning volunteers keep the Minster welcoming and tidy by maintaining a clean, safe, and inviting environment for all who visit.
Events and catering
Help plan, set up, and serve at special church events, creating a warm and hospitable experience for all attendees.
